Bit.ly Plugin for Windows Live Writer

If you’re a fan of Bit.ly, the default URL shortener used by Twitter, and a user of Windows Live Writer, the desktop blogging software, then you’re going to want to grab the Bit.ly plugin. By using this Live Writer plugin, you can shorten links in your blog post from long, unwieldy URLs to shorter ones that begin with http://bit.ly/ just by highlighting the link. Not only does this clean up your blog post from being cluttered with unnecessary text, it also offers handy features like the ability to track the visitors who clickthough on the link provided and see their usage statistics…that is, assuming you have a Bit.ly account (optional). The plugin is available as a free download from the Windows Live Gallery here.
