Added to AllTop

Thanks to awesomesauce blogger, Corvida of SheGeeks, I just found out that along with her site, Sarahintampa.com has been added to AllTop’s social media page. Well, cool!

Now, I did say not to long ago that when it came to dashboard sites I just "didn’t get it." I didn’t understand how anyone would choose to visit these sites instead of just reading through their news in a feed reader, like Google Reader, instead. It certainly is a more personalized experience when you choose what you want to read and categorize feeds into your own folders.

However, that being said, dashboard sites can be a useful way for those getting into RSS to find good feeds to subscribe to. Case in point is the small bump in RSS subscribers I’m attributing to this new linkage. Hopefully, those new feed readers won’t be too disappointed to find that I’m not 100% about social media, especially considering some of my Mesh posts of late.

I also hear via Corvida that we have Phil Glockner of Scribkin(and now Google Tutor) to thank for getting us, as well as Louis Gray, added to the page at AllTop - thanks!
