Record Podcasts from Your Phone

Sarah Perez on February 25th, 2008

cinchCinch is new service (with a sparse webpage) that lets you record podcasts from your phone. Now, I can’t imagine that we’re talking about stellar audio quality here, but talk about ease-of-use! To use Cinch, all you need to do is phone a number and start talking. You don’t have to visit the website, you don’t have to "create an account," or log in anywhere - just call! Cinch records your phone call as an mp3, which is published with a custom feed address that includes the number you called from. So, for example, if you called from 555-123-4567, your Cinch feed would be available from http://cinch.blogtalkradio.com/5551234567. (You can always burn a new feed at Feedburner). Cool, huh? I can actually see all kinds of uses for this - reminders to yourself, recordings you want to sync to your iPod, brief interviews, informal corporate communications, driving directions you can play back when you’re in the car, etc.
