Flock Beta 1.0 Launched
Flock, the social web browser that I’ve written about before here, has launched their public beta of version 1.0. The new version offers some great new features like the sidebar with social networking integration. Flockstars (Flockers? Flocksters?) can now view and interact with social networking content like Facebook, flickr, Twitter, YouTube, Photobucket, Piczo, del.icio.us, and Magnolia right in the browser’s sidebar. Another improved feature, the media bar, lets you drag and drop content to flickr and now, Facebook, too. The web clipboard feature lets you drag and drop anything - URLs, text, or images - into the sidebar’s clipboard. That content can then be drag-and-dropped onto other sites elsewhere. The browser also has a built-in blogging client, but this feature has not seen as much improvement, unfortunately still suffering from image management problems (so just pick up Live Writer instead). Other features like the browser-based RSS reader, anonymous web search, the “star anything” favoriting feature, and built-in fraud protection round out this release. The download is available here.

Hey Now Sarah,
very interesting, I like to collect browsers & looking forward to trying this one out. The social networking features sound good.
Thx,
