Hacked iPod Touch?

Great. Just when I had finally talked myself out of my desperate need for an iPod Touch, I see this post on Engadget. Although the details have not been publicly released yet, it looks like the hacking community is making some serious headway in getting 3rd party apps to run on the iPod Touch. Longing reactivated.
