WOWIO is a new kind of online bookstore - one where you can download ebooks for free! Supported by commercial sponsorships to compensate authors & publishers, WOWIO readers can legally download books after registering for an account. The ebooks are made available as DRM-free PDFs, viewable by using Adobe Reader. Due to some strange reason I had never heard of, WOWIO has decided that you can only download three books per day; however, that should not be a major obstacle for anyone who truly plans on reading these books, as it takes longer than one day to read three books! WOWIO books are available in many different categories, including Architecture & Design, Articles & Essays, Arts & Photography, Biographies, Business, Classics, Crafts, Cooking, Health, Mind, & Body, Computers & the Internet, and many more. There are even comics! Some web comic collections worth checking out are Fantasy Realms, Fractured Kisses, Sebo, Out There, and Inverloch, to name a few. And geeks will dig the Star Trek comics. (Checker BPG has posted a number of comics based on the original Star Trek series.) From my quick perusal, there does not appear to be any current best-sellers on the site, but the classics are available in full force.
