Twitterfeed
![]()
Twitterfeed.com is a new service that lets you feed your blog posts to Twitter. The service is easy to use, especially if you already have an OpenID set up. If not, you’ll need to create one before you can use Twitterfeed. To get started, create a Twitter account (as if you don’t already have one!), then login to Twitterfeed using your OpenID. After logging in, click "go to my twitterfeeds (or create a new one)" then "create new twitterfeed." Fill in your Twitter account info, your RSS URL, how often you want your blog posts sent to Twitter, and, optionally, if you would like to preference these "tweets" with any text. Click "Create" and you are done! The Twitterfeed server will check your blog’s feed at the specified interval
and post any new items to your Twitter account. Both RSS and Atom feeds are supported and posts will need to contain
publish dates in order for their server to know what’s new. Also, feeds
requiring authentication will fail. I’m testing Twitterfeed right now with this post to see how TypePad does with it…you can check my Twitter for the results…
UPDATE: OK, so maybe it takes a little while? I don’t see it yet. Wonder if this update will cause a double-post. While you’re waiting, check out the sweet, new Explore Twitter page, which features all kinds of Twitter goodies. The featured item is "Twitter Block," which lets you discover new people on your Twitter block by navigating through an animated 3D visualization of who follows whom. Also, on the page is a link to activate your mobile phone, a link to integrate your IM account with Twitter, a link to popular 3rd party Twitter clients, the Twitter Facebook Application, and fan-created applications.
