Dell Selling De-Gunked PCs

Don’t you hate having to uninstall a bunch of useless software when you buy a PC? Contrary to the Apple ads, that is not a Microsoft thing, it’s an OEM thing, and it’s done to subsidize the cost of the PC. But now, Dell customers have the option to order PCs without the additional trial software that is usually preinstalled. In order to purchase a de-gunked PC, customers should select the option "no software preinstalled" when purchasing Inspiron notebooks or Dimension desktops. Using the option would eliminate most of the commonly preinstalled programs, but some would remain including Adobe’s Reader a set of Google tools, and antivirus software. Dell is certainly listening to its customers these days - first offering Ubuntu, now this. The question remains as to whether or not these changes will pay off in terms of increased profits for the company.
