FreeRanger WebReader

A company called FreeRange Communications just released an app called FreeRanger WebReader that brings blogs, news, stocks, weather, and easy web browsing to your mobile device. According to their website, "the goal of WebReader is simple - to do for Internet content what Blackberry did for email. WebReader brings the Internet to your fingertips, giving you access to the websites you want, wherever you happen to be, and without making you wait." Lofty goals! I wouldn’t go that far, but the app is pretty cool. The WebReader software runs in the background, downloading information and caching it, so the content can be browsed even when there is no signal; and when there is a signal, there’s no waiting for webpages to load - the content is already there. WebReader currently supports Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Palm Treo, Nokia (J2ME), and J2ME phones (Sony Ericsson, Samsung and others). The free version only supports up to 10 feeds, but the paid version supports an unlimited number for $39.95/year. You can download FreeRanger WebReader by visiting http://mwap.at/ in your mobile phone’s browser.
