Flock Update

Still Flocking here. Can’t blog with it, so wondering what’s the point? However, I really like the little "X"’s on each tab. Firefox 2 will have this feature, though. Not worth switching for little "X"’s. Realized I don’t have the "Copy Plain Text" extension - a must for bloggers (esp when I can blog with Flock!) Thank goodness for the Flock’d extension. With this extension, you right-click on the .xpi (the download) from the Firefox add-ons page and you’re jumped over to the Flock’d website where you can search to see if that extension has already been converted to Flock. You don’t really need the Flock’d extension to visit the site though, just the URL: http://www.outraged-artists.com/flockd/list.php. "Copy plain text" was there - whew! (Remember to use the "find as you type" feature to find your extension quickly).

Hey Sarah,
Are you having issues with the blog editor? I can help.

Not issues as in it not working, issues as in it doesn’t work the way I want it to. Although I can drag and drop a photo into my blog post in the editor window, the text doesn’t automatically wrap around the pic; also TypePad can be set up to automatically resize the pic to a standard, preset thumbnail size. As of right now, it’s still more convenient to blog via TypePad than Flock.
Ahh, I see.
To do the text wrapping around the pic thing, I usually flip to the source tab for a sec and put a little css inside the img tag. I’m not sure if TypePad will let me show you CSS, but here goes nothing:
style=”border:none;margin:2px;padding:2px;float:right;”
When you hover over a photo in the photobar, you should see two grey boxes. If you grab the smaller size one of those, you will get a smaller pic in your blog post. You should also be able to resize the photo to be smaller if you wish by grabbing the bottom right corner and resizing it.
Not perfectly matched to your current workflow, but I hope those help.
Good tip on the photo resizing.
As for the text wrapping - I’m just a user
I’m looking to streamline & improve upon my current processes. Adding css by hand? I won’t do it - I’ll just keep using TypePad.
Yeah, I hear you on the process point - I don’t like touching code either because I just shouldn’t have to. I actually cheat and keep that little bit of code in my web snippets bar.
