I’ve Been Plagiarised!
I guess I’ll take it as a compliment? I commented on their post that it’s wrong to steal like that without as least linking or giving credit, but my comment was deleted.
My post: http://hyperculture.typepad.com/sarah/2006/06/google_checkout.html
Their post: http://blog.diyersitzone.net/?p=61 (a copy-and-paste of mine, word for word!)

I’ve had that happen to me before, and they said they did it because the post was well written. I don’t get why people can’t write their own posts.
I just made a post about their site. I like your blog. It’s one of my favorite on Typepad. I don’t understand why people do crappy things like this. He (or she) could have easily paraphrased and then post a link back to your website.
Maybe they’ll delete my comment as well, but maybe having more than one person bug them about it will be enough to get removed or modified.
Probably a money thing. Someone wanted the quick adsense buck.
It may be a compliment, but it’s wrong to steal your content. And obviously they know it having deleted your comment.
Looks like they’ve pulled down all of their content now, at least I cannot see any of their posts, just the header and nav and ads.
If the post reappears, I’d complain to their provider.
actually I’m wondering if those guys are not the ones who stole one of my articles last year…
jerks… I left a comment to be deleted, too…
yeppers, I threw a comment up there. Now it’s just time to find out the bloggers email address, then send him the internet by email, like say the library archives of the University of Michigan…that one always works.
If I’m not mistaken, US copyright law states when something is created, it is automatically copyrighted with all rights reserved.
I license my stuff under Creative Commons licenses, which requires people to give me a link back - and I have the option to add other clauses like a non-commercial one.
This work should be immediately brought down, as they are breaking the law.
I’ve also left a comment (there were none visible to me as of 6:45 AM on 7/9). Seems their site is slow right now.
We should do something about this. The Tampa blog community is large and powerful. Maybe get Roblimo involved so we can get a story up on Slashdot…
I just read the comment and discovered this issue.
Sorry for what i’ve done.
My site had been setup that only the comment that i approved will appears because everyday i receives a lots of spam advertisements comments.
I’m a newbie in weblog, i just want to share your info and no intention to plagiarised your post. ( especially to Perry, i’m dont even know what is your url… )
Anyways, i already put a credit to the post that the article info source is from http://www.sarahintampa.com.
Looks like they finally gave you credit this morning. I see didi also gave you an apology; of course, he/she did not leave any comments posted so we can’t see all the comments the site received on this issue. Anyway, keep up the good work keeping us informed!

Thanks, everyone, for your support! At least I got a link now.
“I’m a newbie in weblog, i just want to share your info and no intention to plagiarised your post.”
I’m sorry, but that’s no excuse. It’s good that you gave credit (finally), but I can’t imagine there’s a human being with Internet access who doesn’t know that plagarism is bad.
If Sarah decides to drop this, then so be it. But I, for one, think it still stinks.
I am just your average user will limited pc knowkedge.Regarding you personal issue of plagerism.I have often seen photos or articles that I would like to use mostly personal use,I have always taken the time to write to the owner but have yet to get one responce.I usually will save the page as so it retains it,s original place. Thanks Maggie
This is quite different - what you are doing is okay, if it’s just for personal use. This person copied and pasted my entire article from my website, then posted it on their website as if they wrote it. They did not site me as the source or give me credit for having written it in any way. *That* is plagiarism!!!
