One of the new features of Windows Vista will be the Windows Sidebar. In preparation for the release, a gadget gallery has already been created. Though sparse right now, the call is out to any developers interested in submitting a gadget for the sidebar. Of course, the gadget gallery website looks awful in Firefox! However, I have to admit, the Windows Sidebar looks pretty hot.

It’s slick but I think of it as unnecessary eye candy. I don’t think I’d make much use of it and probably eventually turn it off.
And too much of Vista ties you to Internet Explorer.
Don’t get me wrong, Vista is nicer than XP and I will upgrade. But I’ll still continue to dual-boot Windows and Linux. X-Window has equally nice (if not better) eye candy.
Just looks a lot like a mac to me…
