Gmail Goes Mobile!

Sarah Perez on December 16th, 2005

Gmail_10Was dying to post this earlier, but….(see below entry). Anyway, Gmail is now available on your mobile phone! A dream come true - at least for a Google girl like me! You just go to m.gmail.com on your phone to access your inbox. Even cooler is the fact that it can handle attachments like pictures and .pdf files. I downloaded an attached picture today, but haven’t had a chance to test .pdfs yet.

RazrI have TMobile and all I need for Mobile Gmail is the TMobile Web plan, which is $5.99/month, as opposed to the data plan, which is $20/month. Oh, and…have you seen my new phone?

  1. I just have my gmail route through a folder on my yahoo mail, which I can access through the 2.99/month t-zones. Just a thought. In either way, T-Mobile has the cheapest and best data plans. To get what I have with my 39.99+2.99 T-Mobile package, cingular would cost 60 bucks a month. Alas, T-Mobile has easily the worst coverage of any service I have ever used. I only have signal if I set my phone on the windowsill, and when I get to Ohio later today, I’ll be incommunicado for two weeks since they have zero coverage in northwest ohio.

My friends and I (we’ve all been with the company since it was called VoiceStream) have taken to calling it “T-Immobile.” Yet until a company can give me unlimited email-checking for 2.99 a month, I have to stick with it. I still have my original 2001 phone, even.
