A Mac-ish Firefox Exension

I hear that one of Mac OS X’s most popular features is being duplicated in this latest Firefox extension:  Viamatic foXpose. Click on an icon in the corner of your browser, and all the tabs become small windows into the pages you have open. From there you can navigate around them or close them easily. There’s also a keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + X. This is one extension I will have to check out!

  1. I’m already playing with it myself. I keep getting errors that were apparently pretty common back in May

Canvas objects look really neat and this looks like one of only a few things you can do with them, ie. prefetch links from the current web page, then render them to transparent thumbnails on mouseover events so the user gets a preview of where a link goes before he or she clicks on it. Cool, huh?

  2. im using FF 1.5 and it tells me it can’t instal becasuse it’s the wrong version. which is weird cause 1.5 in between 1.4 and 1.6 right?

  3. You are right. 1.5 is between 1.4 and 1.6. Pull up about:config and check extension.lastAppVersion to make sure that it’s set to 1.5. You could set minVersion to something really low, but then Firefox might explode, eat your prized possessions, and insult your mother.

Don’t take anything I say as too certain though; I’m kind of a noob at this extension packaging scheme.
