Flock Has Arrived!
In case you missed it, there’s a new web browser out there and it’s called Flock. If you read my previous post, then you may have gone to their homepage and signed up to be on their announce list; and if you were on the announce list, then you should have gotten an email recently with a download link to the developer preview. If you didn’t do all that, and you’re dying to check it out, comment here and I’ll share my login with you.
So, what’s the big deal about Flock? Well, it’s really different. Flock is an open source browser designed to be *the* browser for bloggers. Its bookmarks are integreted with del.icio.us, so bookmarked pages are automatically added to your account there. It has a blogging toolbar that allows you to drag and drop text from a website into your blog. There’s a flickr toolbar that lets you drag and drop flickr photos into your blog post. Digging, around, I see things that remind me a lot of Firefox. In fact, it looks like they have plans to support Firefox extensions and themes. I didn’t immediately see if it had tabbed browsing, but, yes, it does (thank god!) In fact, there is so much new and cool stuff, I couldn’t even list it all here. Install your own copy and comment with your favorite feature. Just keep in mind this is beta, so no whining about the broken stuff yet. Just be a good tester and submit the error to Flock.

please……… share…. share the joy…
hey sarah…i also checked out flock right after i got the email…I really like it and the way you can use flickr and del.icio.us with such ease is pretty sweet. I think it is pretty much firefox or built ontop of firefox but I could be wrong…Im gonna keep playing with it and see whatelse I can find.

Sarah,
I agree. Seeing that you use Movable Type, and the browser supports WordPress and Blogger, we can conclude that this is the best browser out there.
I’ve had a small podcast startup at http://www.teentec.net and I’ve seen that this is the fastest way to blog to our WordPress blog.
Comes with all the other cool stuff, like a shelf, etc.

Flock has my vote so far.
Sarah - feel free to ping me
. It doesn’t have live bookmarks, I think, but does have RSS/Atom.
Directly downloaded it yesterday as well. As a first impression the browser on itself looks good. With the blogger integration I’m having some trouble though, it isn’t able to connect to my blogger account so can’t use it to create posts. Sort of defeats the entire purpose of the entire browser so till it works I’m sticking with firefox.
Everyone seems to love it so far - except me. I can’t even log into my blog through the software — error detecting my blog settings… Every. Single. Time.
I think it’s very nice. I’m going to try to incorporate it into my normal browser use. Some of the features are pretty cool.
Hey, Sarah, I think I’d like to give it a go if you care to share the goodness…
Sarah, I think you may find this interesting, as I’m sure you love Firefox extentions.

yeah flock is cool did you move to flock from firefox?
Everyone’s gotten it to work except me huh?
Every time I try to log onto my blog through the software it gives me an error. I don’t know if it’s just flock or if it’s me or my web host. Really aggrivating.
Guess I got to wait for the official release.
