Windows Vista?

Seriously, though, from the screenshots on the net, I’m liking the Aero interface. A lot. Peeking inside folders and previewing files’ contents! A slider bar to enlarge or shrink icons! File information at the bottom of the screen! (At last!) Very cool. And not just pretty, but useful too. Vista will (hopefully) also provide better security, enhanced search, and and brand-new, firefox-y browser, IE7. Not bad for out-of-the-box, I guess. (These images were borrowed from PC World, where there is a great article on Vista.)

  1. *yawn* Apple did most of this two years ago with OS X. One can only wonder what undocumented security “features” will lurk in all of this new functionality that Microsoft is “inventing”.

  2. I have a copy of Vista. I haven’t done anything with it yet though. If you can get a copy and install it, please let us know if it is really “all that”.

  3. You know, I don’t like ‘pretty’ operating systems. I prefer Windows 98 to XP appearence wise.

  4. Yeah…but I’m a girl. I like pretty!

  5. If you can’t beat them join them.

  8. Do you really? I’m jealous!
