Thank You, Bright House!

Sarah Perez on January 14th, 2005

What a way to make my Friday! I just got this email from Bright House Networks:

Dear Road Runner Customer,

We’re writing to let you know that we’ve made exciting enhancements to your Road Runner High Speed Online service!

We thought 3 Mbps (megabits per second) was fast, but we’ve made it even faster. We have upgraded your service at no additional charge to you! You can now reach download speeds of up to 5 Mbps. Download files over 100 times faster than dial-up and up to three times as fast as standard DSL. Now that’s fast! This dose of lightning lets you surf the web, download music and photos, and receive email attachments faster than ever before.

We hope you enjoy your enhanced Road Runner service, and thank you for making your house a bright house.

Sincerely,
Bright House Networks Customer Service

  1. Nice!!

I’m still waiting for FIOS from Verizon to finish north tampa and then head this way in Tampa.

Which they are boasting to be for 5mbps/2mbps for $40.00-, 15/2 for $50.00, and the mother of all being 30Mbps/5 Mbps, at about $100.

It’s just the waiting that sucks.

  2. Waiting, and raw sewage in your front yard. I was waiting for Fios or FTTP with baited breath myself. It’s too bad that they screwed up their digging. Apparently the Bright House Fiber will scale up to 9 Mbps, so it’ll be interesting to see how the competition unfolds. In any case, we’re all pretty lucky to be living in the middle of a bandwidth expansion war zone.

  3. They screwed up their digging? I guess that can account for all this waiting.

I’d switch back to road runner, if their news server didn’t suck so bad. I rather wallow in the long-awaited arrival for FIOS until then.

  4. I wish my local Roadrunner would offer something new and free. My monthly bill (including cable, digital cable and VOIP) totals more than my car payment!

  5. there must be a catch somewhere. People are always adding hidden fees somewhere …

  6. whats all the fuss? I still use the public library.

  7. It sure will make downloading a new Linux OS a lot faster.

  8. Not Fair!
