Target.com Hacked
I’m sure you’ve already heard, but the Target.com website was hacked recently. The hacker put up items for sale that you know Target does not sell. Some were adult items and one of the items was marijuana. Yep, a bag of pot for only $25.25. This site has links to some screenshots of the hack, including the one I used for this post (hope they don’t mind).
What’s funny to me is that I can’t Google up anything on this hack beyond bloggers’ posts and forum posts. Where are the news stories? Where’s the CNN coverage? Why isn’t this getting more news attention? Can someone find news links for me?

lol. i’d have paid good money to see the news people talk about this. !
Course Target itself prolly tried to get it on the downlow. Since people are already pissed at them for not allowing the bell ringers from the salvation army to stand outside their stores.
I also saw a screenshot on one site that had a blowjob for sale for $9.99. Um… sorry, but mine are more expensive than that. They cost at minimum three dates and a nice bottle of wine. LMAO
Does CNET count as a news site?
is it rude to point out that the article Greg points us to doesn’t actually deal with the (very funny) topic at hand? no ill will intended, mate
Actually, he’s right - the article mentions that: “Target blamed the gaffe on a process the two companies use to coordinate their e-commerce networks, not a computer hack.” So, it’s me that was wrong. Target was not hacked after all.
Thanks for the link!
Yeah, the article I linked mentioned the amazon.com connection. At one point, you could see the same “hacks” at amazon.com as well as target.com. Ultimately, the fault was with amazon.com, but target.com seemed to get more press about it.
