Do you Yahoo?

Yahoo
Well, if you do - Yahoo! has revamped and the new My Yahoo! page allows you to add RSS feeds to your page. Any RSS feeds, not just the ones in their list. The only downside is that you have to add them one by one instead of being able to import a list. Oh well. It’s still pretty cool. Take that MSN!

  1. Yeah, I looked at it, it is kinda neat. But I lost all love for My Yahoo! when I discovered Bloglines. It’s WAY better for RSS/Atom feeds, and I can get the same newsfeeds via RSS/Atom that I do on Yahoo! And, being web based, I get to log in from anywhere, unlike an installed RSS aggregator application.

If you have not tried Bloglines, I suggest giving it a run and see how you like it. It has a bookmarklet that sniffs out a feed URL from the home page of a site, if it is specified in the source of the page. Most blog software does specify the feed as an alternate page option in the head of the document.

  2. It should be mentioned that although you can use that feature in My Yahoo, it’s still a beta and therefore a wee bit buggy. I’ve been addicted for some time to the “one-stop” offering My Yahoo gives the user, including my daily dose of Doonesbury, Get Fuzzy, and Dilbert.

  3. Yahoo is pretty good but I have to agree with Dave. :) Bloglines is an awesome tool! I get all my blogs, comics, news, etc, stuff there. :D

  4. Ummm, duh, what is an RSS feed?
