Groovy Mice!

miceThese are pretty cool, I have to say. They’re special edition mice from Microsoft. They are some of the first mice to use the new “tilt-wheel” technology where the scroll wheel will not only scroll up and down, but you can actually tilt the wheel from side to side to scroll horizontally. Cool. Plus, they will have a feature where you can toggle between open applications (ala “Alt + Tab”) by pressing down on the scroll wheel. However, this is something Logitech introduced a year ago. Logitech also isn’t sold on the whole deal where these new mice won’t “click” when you’re vertically scrolling. They’ve studied the clicks from vertical scrolling and have “found them key to the scrolling experience.” Hmm, to click or not to click? I might have to check these out.

One last thing:

So, should we be saying “mice” (like the article does) or “mouses”? I could never figure this one out.

  1. The correct plural is actually “mouses”, I picked that up in one of my uni classes. :)

  2. Yeah, “mice” sounds silly in this context for some reason. But “mouses” sounds kind of dumb too. From now on when I have to use the plural I think I’ll just make scrolling motions with my fingers and say “them clicker thingies what make the computer work.”
