I really need a DVR

Sarah Perez on April 13th, 2004

Well, this settles it. There is just no way for me to watch 3 shows at once. It was bad enough being torn between must-see-tv and CBS on Thursdays, now this. And with our Bose system’s strange setup we have to tape shows in one room and watch tv in another. Why do I still own a VCR, you ask? Because our cable company just got DVRs. Like a week ago. I think I have to have one. By Thursday. I doubt this is possible. I wonder if they force you to get digital cable channels, too.

Tape Trading for 2004

Sarah Perez on April 4th, 2004

What is tape trading for 2004? Sharing entire concerts (yes, entire concerts!) via the internet. How did I not catch onto this until now? This is pretty cool, I must say. This are BIG files and BitTorrent is a way to download big files faster. But you had better have a big hard drive first.

As much as I love the technology of this…I’m wondering where is the content? This page has lists of band’s concerts for download, but they are all hippie bands. Now don’t get me wrong…I love Dead and Phish and Dylan…but I also love Blink-182 and Rancid and Garbage. So where is the variety? Hmmm…I guess hippie shows are more likely to be traded….but once I find something like this…I want it ALL! I can only hope this catches on.
